About Amelia

I manage translation and other subsidiary rights sales for the Bent Agency.

I grew up in the north of England, about a mile from the Brontë Parsonage, and spent my childhood reading anything from Postman Pat to Jane Eyre.

After reading French and Russian at Cambridge University, with a year spent in the south of Russia and St. Petersburg, I went on to get an MA in Art History and some Italian from the University of Manchester. I then settled in London to spend several years working at Christie’s and Sotheby’s in their Decorative Art, Modern and Contemporary African Art, Ancient Sculpture and Aboriginal Art departments, before turning my experience with international contracts to foreign rights at the Bent Agency.

For pleasure I read anything, though I have a weakness for a lyrical voice and a bittersweet ending.
