Cross Creek Pictures has optioned feature film rights to Lori Roy's novel "Bent Road" and tapped Mark Mallouk to adapt, with Benderspink producing. Cross Creek, which emerged two years ago as a significant player when it backed "Black Swan," has partnered with Exclusive Media on Ron Howard's racing drama "Rush," "The Ides of March," "The Woman in Black" and the upcoming "A Walk Among the Tombstones." It's also developing "The Creed of Violence." UTA reps both Roy and Mallouk. It repped the book rights on behalf of the Bent Agency.

Publishers Weekly, October 29th, 2012. Executive editor at Harlequin HQN, Tara Parsons, took world rights (excluding Japan), for high six figures, to a new trilogy by Julia London. Agent Jenny Bent, at the Bent Agency, represented the bestselling historical romance author, whose series include the Secrets of Hadley Green. The new series, the publisher said, will feature a Sense and Sensibility theme, and senior editor Ann Leslie Tuttle will be editing the titles. The first book is scheduled for spring 2014.
