Rachel Rear is a teacher, writer, actor, and sometime aerialist with graduate degrees in Creative Writing from the New School and in the Teaching of English from Columbia University Teachers College. She is also a veteran teacher of middle and high school English and an adjunct faculty member in the English department of the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Her articles have been published in the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post. Additionally, her poetry has appeared in Crab Creek Review, Off the Coast (Maine’s International Poetry Journal), Forage Poetry Journal, Postcard Poems and Prose, and Ducts Webzine.
As an actress, Rachel Rear has sought out roles on a number of true crime television shows, appearing in principal roles on Investigation Discovery’s A Crime to Remember, Most Evil, and Do Not Disturb: Hotel Horrors. She can also be spotted on episodes of Blue Bloods and Boardwalk Empire.
She also flies on a trapeze at Circus Warehouse in Long Island City.
